Justice for Palestine Rallyby ~TheCommissar

This is a poster I designed for a demonstration that happened yesterday. 300 people attended, despite rain and cold weather. A real success, all told!

The cause is one I feel strongly about. The Palestinian people have been the victims of oppression and disposession for decades at the hands of the apartheid, imperialist state of Israel.

Contrary to how the issue is often presented, it is not some ancient struggle between two equally irrational sides. Rather, Israel is a U.S. backed colonial project. Israel exists on stolen land, seized by force of arms in 1948 and again in 1967. The Palestinians on the other hand don't have a nation. Their daily lives are regulated and intruded upon by Israel. And there has never been a shred of justice for those Palestinians exiled in 1948 who still live in poverty stricken refugee camps around the Middle East.

Israel has been a force for oppression and destruction countless times since its creation. It has invaded its neighbours many times, and killed tens of thousands.

Most recently, it invaded and bombed the Gaza strip - killing close to 1500. This has been aknowledged by even the United Nations (hardly the most neutral body) as a war crime.

Given all this, I proudly support the Palestinian resistance, and I hope to live to see the destruction of the Zionist state and all it stands for.
